The Peacock, a friendly country inn set at the foot of the beautiful Chilterns in picturesque Henton, near Thame.
This is an ideal location for business and leisure guests, with easy access to Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.
The Peacock offers a place to enjoy reasonably priced, freshly cooked food after a hard day's work and to get away, relax and enjoy the countryside. You can also venture to Oxford for some shopping, walk along the Ridgeway or just read the newspapers and enjoy a drink at our period bar.
You will find our friendly staff always ready to assist and The Peacock a quiet and secluded sanctuary in which to unwind and relax.
The restaurant/bar offers a selection of delicious fresh English food, all served to you to by our helpful team in a friendly atmosphere. The superb lunchtime and evening menus are changed seasonally and feature fresh local vegetables and produce.

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

Our bedrooms have recently been refurbished and include modernised bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms and flat-screen TVs.

By train:
Trains from London Marylebone station to Princes Risborough leave regularly throughout the day.
By car from the M40:
- Exit at junction 6 for Princes Risborough and continue through Kingston Blount and Chinnor (staying on the B4009).
- Just past Chinnor, turn left at the Peacock sign and we are approximately one mile down the road.
From Thame:
- Follow signs to Chinnor from the Thame Chinnor road.
- You will go through a large roundabout where DAF and BOC are located.
- Once in Chinnor turn left onto the B4009 for Henton.
- Turn left at the Peacock sign and we are approximately one mile down the road.
From Aylesbury:
- Follow signs for Princes Risborough then Chinnor (on the B4009).
- Just before Chinnor, turn right at the Peacock sign and we are approximately one mile down the road.
